Kids Dining Table
Sometimes, you don't want to buy a booster chair or stack 2 - 3 chairs together just to put your toddler or
kid on the adult dining table. At times like these, you need a kid's dining table in your
home.
Features
Lightweight.
Rather short in height, usually ranging from 10 to 20 inches or more. Note that the standard adult dining table
has a height of about 30 inches.
More commonly available in plastic. But wood is also a great choice for making these kids' dining tables.
The most common table top shape is square, followed by the rectangle and circle.
There are many attractive colors, styles and designs to choose from. Manufacturers understand that
different kids have unique tastes when it comes to their own dining table color.
Kids' dining chairs are smaller and match the table height.
Multipurpose. Other than eating, it can also be used for playing games, reading books, doing homework and so
on.
Folding table and chairs
This type of children dining set allows you to fold the table and chairs, like its name suggests. The advantage
is you can store them quickly whenever you need to save space. Planning a birthday party for your kid? Roll out a
few of these units in the house!
Benefits
Safer for your children. Tables that are made from plastic will not injure your little ones. For example if you
have a glass dining table at home, that would be very dangerous for your kids. They could play around and break the
glass accidentally, causing unwanted serious injuries. Therefore, you can avoid this problem altogether by
providing them their own children dining table.
Very affordable; low price. Save your money when you buy them. One small table for your son or daughter won't
cost much at all.
Teach your kids the value of table manners and the proper ways to eat at an early age. When they grow up, you
don't have to worry about them scratching your own beloved kitchen table!
Tips
Plastic table
Always go for plastic ones if you want to save money. Kids' kitchen tables that are made from wood will always
cost you much more, reaching close to $200 for a complete kids' dining set (table and chairs). Just make sure the
table is sturdy and doesn't wobble. This is the most important criteria when choosing plastic table and chairs.
As a tip, don't place heavy items on the plastic table continuously for a long time. Prolonged stress will cause
the plastic to bend and curve, lowering the table's quality and durability.
If you don't want to worry about bending plastics, just get a wooden version that costs a little more. Problem
solved.
Chairs
For extra comfort, buy chairs that have padded seats. This way, your young ones don't always have to sit on hard
plastic or wood surfaces!
If money is really tight, you can opt for the stool option, instead of chairs with back rests. Still, this is
not recommended because the amount of money you save is not much. Your child's back is more important, right?
How to buy dining tables for your kids?
First, determine your child age. Keep in mind your kid's age. For example, if they are still toddlers, buy a
much shorter table. However, expect them to outgrow the table soon because they tend to grow very quickly
during 2 to 5 years old. Still, the very low price of a toddler's table is very worth it.
You must choose the right height. Size does matter. Compared to buying the standard, adult dining table, you
only have to decide between the standard height (30 inches) and counter height table (36 inches or more), which is
simple to decide since everyone goes for the standard height without problems. But when it comes to kids' dining
tables, you have to think about the height.
Always test the table by letting your child sit on the chair and use the table. Remember, they are only kids.
They won't know what feels comfortable and what not. You as a parent have to decide for them. Don't try to save
money by immediately going for the higher table thinking they will outgrow the table quickly. Rather, choose the
most suitable height for your son or daughter so they can sit in the correct posture. The amount of money you save
is negligible since kids' dining tables are rather cheap anyways. Which is more important to you? Your kid's
ability to develop good sitting posture in the long term or a few dollars off your wallet?
Like any other furniture, take into serious consideration when you shop for a kid's dining table. You should
give the best to your children!
